Here’s a little secret that most people don’t know:
You can make your own luck.
And no, I don’t mean this in a cliché way. You can literally—mathematically—make
your own luck.
How?
*Drum roll*
Consistency. Let me explain…
If you flip a coin once, what’s the probability you get heads at least one time?
50%.
Now, if you flip that same coin 1,000 times, what’s the probability you’ll get heads at least one time?
It’s essentially 100%. It would be astronomical if you managed to not get heads even once. The universe would probably implode or something.
Anyway… what this means, is that consistency GUARANTEES results.
The more times you do something, the higher your chances of success.
The only way to truly fail is to give up.
Here’s a different perspective:
Imagine I told you that you had a guaranteed 1% chance of getting a million euro for every kilometre you ran.
Would you just run 5km or 10km and if it didn’t work out – stop?
Of course not. This would be the easiest million you’d ever make…
If you were even just moderately sane, you’d run 100km, 200km, even 500km if you had to.
Why?
Because you know the money is just getting closer and closer.
Stopping would be the least productive thing you could do.
But here’s the crazy part: this is exactly how most people live their lives.
You’re in the exact same position right now.
There’s a guaranteed million waiting for you at the end of the finish line—all you
have to do is work. Day in, day out.
If you don’t stop, you will get there.
Consistency overrides luck.
